THE PITTSBURGH AIDS TASK FORCE offers free, anonymous HIV antibody testing and counseling at our comfortable offices at 905 West Street, Fourth Floor, in Wilkinsburg, using OraSure, oral swab testing where no blood sample is required. No appointment is necessary. Test results are available within 5 to 10 business days. Testing is provided through a partnership with the Allegheny County Health Department.

Testing Hours:
Monday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Testing is also available at Central Outreach Center in the Hill District on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Please call (412) 242-2500 ext. 117 or email for more information.

Rapid HIV Testing – Know your HIV status TODAY – Spread the word, not HIV
PATF now offers Rapid HIV Testing with the OraQuick Rapid HIV-1 Antibody Test

The Oraquick Rapid HIV test is a screening used to detect antibody to the HIV-1 strand found in blood.

1. The fingertip will be pricked with a small needle (lancet) to collect a small drop of blood.
2. The results are easily read within 30 minutes.
3. Priority for Rapid HIV testing will be given to: a) Intravenous drug users and b) Individuals who have unprotected sex with multiple partners.
4. Testing is greater than 99% accurate
5. Testing is free and confidential at the GLCC and Miryam’s & testing is free and anonymous at PATF
6. Testing counselors provide pre-and post-test counseling and referrals as needed

Gay and Lesbian Community Center (GLCC), 5808 Forward Avenue, Squirrel Hill – Thursdays from 6pm-9pm
Miryam’s (women only) – 1410 Fifth Avenue, Uptown- Thursdays from 11am-3pm

The Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force offers comprehensive, seamless support services to those living with HIV/AIDS. As HIV/AIDS issues continue to evolve, PATF adjusts its programs and services to meet the most imperative needs of our clients.

The Positive Health Clinic of Allegheny General Hospital is dedicated to healing, caring for, and educating our patient*s in an environment in which employees and physicians strive to meet and respect the complex needs of people living with HIV and the needs of their families and loved ones.

The clinic is located in the Medical Ambulatory Care Clinic at Allegheny General Hospital, on the second floor of the South Tower. Ample parking and public transportation are easily accessible.

Most insurance programs are accepted, including Highmark, Aetna Healthcare, Health America, Health Assurance, Gateway, Three Rivers-Med Plus, Medicare & Medicaid.

The Positive Health clinic receives federal funds that assist individuals who do not have adequate insurance to pay for their healthcare. Our staff will help you with financial issues related to your care.

The clinic offers support in the form of patient advocates, social work needs, and comprehensive health care for those living with HIV.
